The European Schoolnet in the framework of the European Commission’s ICT cluster has published a review of 17 studies of ICT impact on schools in Europe. The reviewed studies and surveys have been “… carried out at national, European and international level“. After the years of investment into ICT in schools this report tries to answer the question: “What does the research and evaluation tell us about the return on investment in ICT?” The review focuses on to major areas in regard of investments in schools: (1) learning outcomes and learners and (2) teaching methodologies and teachers. The findings are divided into more quantitative and qualitative based which I personally think is very useful since both of these research approaches deliver different results. For a condensed from of the research findings please refer to the pages 5 to 8 of the review.

The in Germany based company Z_punkt publishes a report about Web 2.0 describing the technology behind it and taking a look at the perspective of users using these innovations. In addition one section of the English version (only abstract available in English) focuses on “Marketing 2.0 and Social Commerce”.
However, the report doesn’t really reveal anything new and is more a compendium that summarizes recent development and innovations in this area. The full version (in German) of this report is 120 pages long and is being sold for EUR 170.
Someone may ask, why is he writing about this report publishes in Germany. Well, I am a German who lives and works here in the Bay Area. So one of my interests is to follow recent development not only here in the U.S. but also in Germany. More about myself will be available soon in the ‘About’ section of this website.

Brandon Hall just publishes a new report how organizations like McDonalds, Microsoft, Health Partners and Bank of America organize pleasant work environments for their employees. The report features 21 case studies on 99 pages and in addition to “high-profile companies” it also takes a look a the vendors who create their content.
A free excerpt is available and contains the table of content, introduction plus one sample case study and an excerpt of one course. The full report is available online for $345 and can be ordered here.
