The U.S. Department of Education published in May 2009 a meta-analysis and review of online learning studies. Under evaluation were empirical studies published during the years 1996 till mid of 2008.
“The meta-analysis found that, on average, students in online learning conditions performed better than those receiving face-to-face instructions.“
